A few useful sites for those new to the area are:

Princeton can be reached via four international airports. The two closest and most easily accessed are:
Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) - 40 miles north. Newark is the closest airport to campus and offers the added advantage of direct rail service. Simply take the Airtrain out of the terminal to Newark/Penn Station. From there, take the North East Corridor line to Princeton Junction (take approx. 1 hour). There should be cabs available to take you to the hotel or campus. Alternatively, you can take the Dinky, a small connecting train, for the five minute ride to campus. Further directions can be found at the bottom of the page.
Philadelphia International Airport (PHL) - 55 miles south.
The two large airports in New York City (east of Manhattan) take substantially more time to reach by car or public transportation from Princeton. They are:
Ground Transportation from and to airports:
Airporter

To the Princeton University Chapel
From the North:
Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 9 (New Brunswick) and follow signs for Trenton (Route 18 north, then Route 1 south). For first-timers, navigating to Route 1 south from this exit can be hair-raising. Take first right after toll booths, onto to 18 north; very quickly, shift to lane second from left, then exit left, less than half a mile from entry point (at the Route 1 overpass). Stay in right lane; the exit to Route 1 south is on your right just beyond the overpass.
From the South:
Take the New Jersey Turnpike to Exit 8 (Hightstown); follow signs for Hightstown and then Princeton.
From the West:
Take Interstate 95 north from Philadelphia to Route 1 north. Follow Route 1 to Route 571 (Princeton-Hightstown Road) and follow signs to Princeton.
Note: Detailed instructions for driving to Princeton are available by telephone. For a recorded message, call 609-258-2222 using a touch-tone telephone. Train transportation is easily available from either New York City or Philadelphia to Princeton via New Jersey Transit.
From New York:
Amtrak and New Jersey Transit operate trains along the Northeast Corridor rail line that stop at Princeton Junction. Travelers can then transfer to a single-car train operated by New Jersey Transit, known locally as the “Dinky,” for the five-minute ride to Princeton Station. The station is located on University Place at the southern end of campus, across from the McCarter Theatre Center.

Campus Tours
Daily tours of campus are conducted by the student-run Orange Key guide service. Tours depart from the Frist Campus Center and last one hour.
Reservations are not required for these tours, except for groups of 15 people or more. Orange Key tours are offered year-round. The times
and days for the summer season 2006 tours will be posted on the
Princeton Site when they become available.
The University also has created an online tour for those that are interested in learning a little about the campus before they arrive.
The Princeton Neighborhood
The town of Princeton, which has a population of approximately 30,000 residents, has tree-lined streets, specialty shops, restaurants, parks and a friendly and safe atmosphere.
For art lovers, the McCarter Theatre Center, winner of a Tony Award for the best regional theater in the country, is a campus treasure within easy walking distance for students.
To further explore the arts and countless other resources, the shuttle train known as the “Dinky” connects the campus to Princeton Junction Station and regular service to New York City and Philadelphia (approximately one hour to either city).
